OPERATION
The COMPACT filter is available in three versions:

COMPACT, in all three versions, thanks to the efficiency of the filter cartridges It contributes to the solution of many dust removal problems in both workplace safety systems and process systems. COMPACT finds application in the most varied industrial sectors (mechanical, metallurgical, chemical-pharmaceutical, energy, construction, rubber, plastic, electronic, wood processing, etc.) for the aspiration and filtration of dust and fumes.
FEATURES
The cleaning of the cartridges takes place with the "reverse pulse jet" system in counter-current, with dry and oil-free compressed air, at 5 bar by means of an electronic sequencer. It presides, following programmed cycles and cadences, over the opening and closing, for fractions of a second, of the solenoid valves, determining the "reverse pulse jet" effect capable of causing, due to air expansion inside the cartridges, the pressure wave and detaching the layer of dust deposited on their exterior.
The sequencer is of an integrated type with a differential pressure switch with continuous reading, on the illuminated display of the Δp value, for constant control of the filter efficiency conditions. This equipment is equipped with two "set points", the first of which must be calibrated to a certain "Δp" value to allow the "reverse pulse jet" cleaning system to intervene only upon reaching it (with considerable saving of compressed air). The second, obviously higher, constitutes the alarm limit indicating a dangerous beginning of clogging.
The device activates, at the end of each work shift, the post-cleaning system with the fan stopped which, acting in a calm situation, in the absence of the counter-pressure due to the aspiration system, puts the filter in the best cleaning conditions for the next work shift. The filter is equipped, inside, with a pre-separation chamber to make the impact of the dusty air with the filter cartridges homogeneous, limiting their mechanical stress. The COMPACT filter is equipped with a steel container, with quick coupling to the hopper, for collecting the filtered dust.
The treated air can be, if permitted, recirculated in the department or emitted into the atmosphere (Dlgs 152/06). The efficiency of the cartridges is 99.92%, according to the strict tests periodically carried out by B.I.A. Berufgenossenschaftliches Institut fur Arbeitssicherheit (Interprofessional Institute for Occupational Safety). The test is carried out on the new filter medium.
The filtration speed (passage through the filter medium) is calibrated, during the test, at 0.056 m/sec (3.36 m/min). Quartz dust is used at a concentration varying from 200 to 20 mg/m3. The dust used for the test has particles that are 90% comprised between 0.2 and 2 microns. (DIN 53887). For particular operating conditions, cartridges with special treatment are used (antistatic ME with permeable membrane of Aluminum or Steel; oil and water repellent with TR TeflonR Resin; anti-packing silicone PW or PTFE with permeable TeflonR membrane - resistant to temperature in NomexR or RytonR).
