Electrostatic Filters
What is electrostatic filtration?
Why are electrostatic filters used?
The main advantage of electrostatic air filtration technology is the complete elimination of any disposal activity of exhausted filters, cartridges or sleeves. The procedure involves the ionizing of pollutant particles, such as VOCs or fine particulates, via an electric field and then attracting them to a metal plate; they can then be simply removed from this, without the need for any type of consumable material replacement.
Furthermore, despite significant costs and a certain delicacy of the system, the method presents another significant advantage: constant full efficiency, regardless of the amount of air already purified. Whereas any mechanical filter tends to accumulate waste, and therefore decrease in efficiency over time, industrial electrostatic filters have the same performance throughout their use.
Finally, the absence of mechanical filters means that the electrostatic filter is equally effective with any type of contaminant substance, dry or wet, and of any particle size within its range of action - unlike cartridge filters, activated carbon filters, or pocket filters, each of which has specific areas of excellence.
The reference standard for activated carbon filters is based on BAT (Best Available Technologies), which are the basis for the tables of the Italian Regions.
