Absolute Filtration

The reasons for installing absolute filtration systems are essentially of two types: the first is dictated by specific regulatory requirements and the protection of the environment and the health of workers, while the second is a production choice.

As regards the first category of application, absolute filters must be installed in all industrial areas where the particular processingoperations If the substances released into the air are potentially toxic, carcinogenic, or otherwise so dangerous as to render so-called fine filtration insufficient, then in all these cases, the air emitted after filtration—whether expelled into the external environment or reintroduced into the work environment, as happens for example in cleanrooms—must be functionally free of any polluting substance residue. This avoids both environmental pollution and the toxic contamination of the air that workers breathe daily in the workplace.

In the second type of application of absolute filtration, the substances released into the air are not toxic, but are of such value that it is economically advantageous to retain them rather than letting them disperse: a classic example of this situationand are goldsmith workshops , where the loss of gold dust and other precious metals can represent, over time, a significant waste. In this case, the function of the absolute filter is precisely to recover and retain all substances that would otherwise be lost, and which will instead be recovered during the disposal of the exhausted filter.
