Chimney Silencers

Design, construction, installation and maintenance of silencers for industrial chimneys of all sizes and capacities.

What are silencers for industrial chimneys?

Silencers for industrial chimneys are specific devices for noise reduction, developed to be installed on industrial chimneys from which air subjected to a filtration process is emitted into the atmosphere.

Depending on the needs, they can be integrated during the construction of a new chimney, or installed on existing old chimneys with a revamping operation. Silencers are distinguished into models with circular or rectangular baffles, depending on the profile of the chimney on which they must be installed.

Why are silencers used for industrial chimneys?

Industrial chimneys represent one of the critical points of a plant in the field of noise emission reduction; they can in fact generate significant noise pollution in itself, and the problem becomes even more urgent in all those industrial plants that operate continuously, 24 hours a day.
In these situations, in fact, the chimney - since the filtration system can never be switched off - emits air both day and night. Especially in the latter circumstance, especially for those plants that are reasonably close to inhabited areas, the noise level can become unacceptable, and require the use of appropriate abatement tools as per current regulations. A key issue to consider in the design and installation is the chimney flow rate: the silencer must not reduce it excessively, so as not to compromise the proper functioning of the plant itself.

Bruno Balducci srl industrial chimney silencers

Bruno Balducci srl designs and manufactures its own industrial chimney silencers; this allows us to offer our customers the highest level of customization of any product we offer.

The silencers are designed according to the dimensions and shape of the industrial chimney on which they will be installed, as well as according to the level of noise generated. The construction material is, depending on the case, carbon steel, galvanized sheet metal, or special steels such as AISI304 and AISI316. Sound-absorbing panels of appropriate materials are combined with these, so as to guarantee maximum efficiency in noise reduction generated by the chimney.
