SAMPLING POINTS
What are sampling ports?
Sampling ports, also known as nozzles or probe connections, are a mandatory element – by law – of industrial plant aspiration and filtration systems.
These are verification stations located on industrial exhaust stacks. Their function is to allow the insertion into the stack of special digital devices for analysis and verification of the airflow emitted into the atmosphere , so as to allow the control of the filtration, if necessary, of all polluting substances. Specific UNI standards regulate the suitable positions for opening these access points, which must be kept at precise minimum distances from bends in the pipes and fans to ensure the homogeneity of the flow and its components and thus allow an accurate and significant analysis.
Considerations relating to the safety of the operator carrying out the check and the need to minimize any uncertainty regarding the actual composition of the air sample taken at that point in the flow are also crucial in choosing the position where to open the sampling ports.
